Being part of the supply chain for the proposed new nuclear build at Hinkley Point C will require businesses to meet safety and quality standards in proportion to the project being delivered. These pages will provide some guidance on what the requirements are, what support is available to help business achieve the relevant standards and skills required and some tips on tendering for those all important contracts when the opportunity arises.

Standards & Accreditation

An overview of what EDF Energy and the Tier 1 contractors will require of suppliers will be kept updated on these pages together with links to useful documents, details of events being organised to assist businesses and external web sites. This page is currently being developed and will be published soon

Skills & Training

With the number of workers on the project expected to peak at 5600 there will be strong demand for a variety of skills as Somerset suppliers and inward investors gear up for the project. These pages will assist business with where they can get help with the provision of skills training by a variety of providers including Bridgwater College, West Somerset Community College and the operations of both the Energy Skills Centre and a proposed Construction Skills Centre. This page will be updated as the project and training provision develops.

Tips on Tendering

Whether a business is considering supplying contracts at Tier1,2,3 or other levels in the supply chain the winning bid will need to be written! We have captured what the main contractors tell us what they are looking for in a bid and some tips from the experts. This page is currently being developed and will be published soon
