How it Works

The Hinkley Point C Somerset supplier portal has been set up to capture the details of businesses interested in being part of the supply chain for the proposed nuclear new build project.

The purpose of the resulting database of businesses and their capabilities will be to offer a supplier matching service to EDF Energy and its appointed main contractors. The Hinkley Point C Somerset supply chain database does not represent a pre-qualified database.

By the end of April 2012  details of some 350 Somerset businesses have been forwarded following 69 requests for local supplier information from EDF Energy and potential Tier 1 contractors. More supplier matching will follow:

Register

Go to this page to register your business information and capabilities. There are two types of registration:

Register as a Hinkley Site Contractor

Register as an Hinkley Indirect Service provider

Once registered your submission is assessed as “Ready”, “Almost Ready” or “Not Ready” for being made available to EDF Energy and its contractors. You will be given login details to allow you to update and improve your submission as and when necessary. See the FAQ section on registration for more details

Search

This search facility is only available to EDF Energy, authorised contractors and Somerset Chamber of Commerce. If you are a main contractor invited to tender or appointed by EDF Energy then login details can be made available via your EDF Energy contact.

Login

All suppliers registered on the database are provided with login details to allow access to update their registration details. Somerset Supply Chain

There are 937 Somerset businesses registered on the supply chain portal. 93 local businesses have so far benefited from work totalling £19 million in value with a further 65 regional businesses benefiting from  work  valued at £34 million.  Local & Regional contracts currently exceed £61 million.  This figure does not include S106 commitments.
