Welcome to the Somerset supply chain registration pages for Hinkley Point C nuclear new build.
The information captured during this registration process will be used by EDF Energy, their invited Main contractors and Somerset Chamber of Commerce, to assess and match Somerset supply chain capability with the workstream requirements for the proposed new Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant. Information will be used according to terms and conditions as detailed on this site – please see terms and conditions.
Registration for Somerset businesses:
Following supplier forums run by EDF Energy there are now over 800 Somerset businesses registered on the Hinkley Supply Chain Portal. These range from small bed and breakfast businesses, window cleaners, taxi firms to specialist environmental and professional service teams and the larger specialist steel fabrication, civil engineering and construction companies.
EDF Energy have made it clear that the purpose of the Somerset database is to assist in match making between the needs of main contractors, EDF Energy and the available capabilities of Somerset businesses.
We review the data submitted by all businesses and assess whether the submission from each business has missing data of relevance or requires clarification before being made available or forwarded to interested main contractors. Where there are gaps in the data or where clarification would be beneficial for your registration we will let you know and suggest that you update your information online.
Updating your existing registration
Once a Somerset business has registered on the Hinkley Point C supplier portal they will be issued with a username and password. This can be used to log in to the portal at any time to view and update the information submitted during registration.
Is your business located outside Somerset?
This registration portal has been set up for business located within Somerset. Our inward investment team – Into Somerset – can help you with any relocation plans. If your business continues to be based outside of Somerset we suggest you visit the EDF Energy New Nuclear Supplier Registration website
What happens after I register?
You will get an email confirming that we have received your submission. We will then review the data completed for any gaps or areas requiring clarification and then we will assess your submission as “Not Ready / Almost Ready / Ready” to make available to main and other contractors. If assessed as not ready or almost ready we will be in touch with you to let you know what is required to move to “Ready”. If your submission is “Ready” you will get an acceptance email.
Submissions assessed as “Not ready” will be where there is no data submitted for important fields – assessed in relation to the type of capability (ie a supplier of office consumables will not be expected to submit the level of data that a steel fabricator will require).
Submissions assessed as “Almost Ready” will have submitted most of the important data but there may be clarification required, for example, on business capability, accreditation or additional information on projects delivered. (Again assessed in relation to the type of service being offered).
Submissions assessed as “Ready” will be those where all data is submitted and the business capabilities, accreditation and project experience are clear. (Again assessed in relation to the type of service being offered).
