HPC News Update – March 2020

New factory to meet rebar demand

A mesh factory is being built by Bylor to meet the high demand for rebar on site. It’s scheduled to be fully operational by the summer. The factory will have the capacity to produce 230,000m2 of mesh per year and will need just four people to operate a machine which will build a rebar cage which would usually take five people more than eight shifts to complete.

High environmental standards at site

After a detailed audit, HPC’s official certification for environmental management has been renewed. The standard shows the site’s ongoing commitment to improving environmental performance. The auditors said the project had good arrangements in place for construction works and was well prepared for the upcoming Mechanical, Electrical and Heating (MEH) phase.
