Watchet Glass and Glazing

February 2, 2012

Kelly Barber, co-owner of  Watchet Glass and Glazing wanted to make the most of the  opportunity to be part of such a huge project, right on the doorstep and registered on the Somerset Supply Chain portal for Hinkley C.

Kelly told us “Watchet glass and glazing is a family run business, and has been trading for 22 years, My husband and I took over 7 years ago when the opportunity to buy Watchet Glass and Glazing came up.  Last year we opened a new and exclusive Timber Windows and doors Showroom near Bath, and we are enjoying the additional business opportunities this offers.”

“Watchet Glass and Glazing specialize in providing a seamless service for home owners seeking to upgrade their home, through the installation of new windows and doors.  Our products and procedures provide the quality, reliability and service that our customers demand.  We are very proud of the high levels of customer satisfaction we receive,  we provide bespoke products installed by our own employees.”

“Our success is down to our 8 strong skilled LOCAL team – installers, glaziers, clerical staff, builders, administrators and management.  Their local knowledge really compliments the delivery of our services.”

“I registered to be part of the Hinkley Supply Chain following the links on the Somerset Chamber of Commerce website during October 2010.  It was easy –  a simple form filled out online, it took 10 minutes to submit.”

“I thought that Watchet Glass and Glazing could really benefit from this, and wanted to make the most of this opportunity to be part of such a huge project, right on our doorstep.”

“Then, at the beginning of July 2011 we received an invitation to tender from EDF Energy for residential window replacement.  And after a lot of hard work preparing our tender, we were pleased to hear at the end of August 2011 that we had been successful!”

“We have been awarded a contract to supply and fit replacement windows and doors to residential properties in a specified area around the main site where EDF Energy are planning to build the new power station.”

“Winning this Contract means that we are in a very strong position for growth, it means job creation, it means that we can focus on the core of our business by concentrating on our customers, and of course it brings the obvious benefits of increased sales. I would encourage any local business owner to register, it could open up huge opportunities for your business – look where it got us!”
