At Hinkley Point C we’re building two nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK, providing secure low-carbon electricity for around six million homes.
The project has now reached the peak of its construction with around 14,000 people working on-site. The bulk of the main civil engineering work is complete and by the end of 2026 almost all of the buildings will have been completed. Since our last newsletter, the shift to the Mechanical Fit-Out has accelerated. The first Unit’s primary circuit is now installed, whilst Unit 2 will see its reactor core installed in early summer.
The latest progress can be seen in our latest project update video which has recently been published.
