New Nuclear Build
Meet The Team
Our aim is to find high-quality suppliers for the sites main contractors, as well as stimulating readiness and competitiveness within the supply chain for the many contracts that have yet to be awarded and the work which lies ahead.
Led by Somerset Chamber of Commerce, we work collaboratively with the South West Manufacturing Advice Service (SWMAS), Business West and EDF, which enables us to provide support to help suppliers meet the requirements of the Hinkley Point C project.

I joined the Somerset Chamber of Commerce in October 2018 as a Hinkley Supply Chain Business Advisor. My role sees me being responsible for supporting businesses to help them get closer to contract opportunities during the construction of Hinkley Point C. I help companies to identify gaps and help to enhance knowledge of the project. I spend my days going out to visit local businesses, networking, making connections and signposting businesses to their opportunity. Part of my role also includes the delivery of HPC and half day targeted workshops. By helping as many local and regional companies access opportunities the Hinkley Supply Chain Team are helping to create a lasting legacy for the South West.
I have a varied working history including in logistics, commercial and procurement functions for both large and small aerospace engineering companies, as well as for the MoD.

I joined the Chamber in May 2015 as the Hinkley Supply Chain Data Co-ordinator, since then I have fulfilled the roles of Business Reporting & information Officer and most recently that of Information manager. My role sees me being responsible for all of the data which is held on the Hinkley Supply Chain Portal, maintaining and improvising our databases and managing the ‘Hinkley Supply Chain Bespoke Search Service’ which enables us to profile the many varied capabilities of the regions registered suppliers. I have a varied working history including stints in automotive sales, working for HMRC’s Business Support Team, estimating and project management for a local carpentry contractor, through to my last role before joining the Hinkley Supply Chain team of running a team of garage equipment and diagnostic engineers throughout the South West.
I have lived in Bridgwater my whole life and take an active part in the local community. I am club captain of one of Bridgwater’s largest Carnival Clubs and although this takes up the majority of my free time, I also manage to cram in playing skittles once a week for my local pub and watching as much live sport as I can. This includes frequent trips to Somerset CCC, various PDC darts tournaments and also catching as much local sport as I can. I am also the proud father to two young sons, who keep me on my toes and means I have a vast knowledge of children television and of every boys favourite extinct creature – Dinosaurs.

My early career was established within the aerospace and defence industry. After a period of training with a world leading engineering company I was offered a role within the procurement organisation. Over a period of years, I was able to develop my supply chain management understanding and skills, backed-up with the appropriate level of business and professional qualifications. Involvement in this function gave me wide exposure to different types of products and services mainly supporting high integrity engineering demands. In addition, I was also selected to undertake a long-term overseas assignment to support a new joint venture organisation and establish an international supply chain from scratch.
Just under twenty year ago through career progression I found myself working in my first nuclear role on a nuclear licensed site This led in turn to a number of project procurement and commercial specialist roles, mainly supporting decommissioning projects on a number of nuclear sites. Over the past three years I have worked for SWMAS supporting the Hinkley Supply Chain Team in the role of Nuclear Supply Chain Specialist.
