Global Employee Mobility Ltd – Proud to play a crucial part in HPC

There are currently more than 4,500 workers on site at Hinkley Point C (HPC) and thousands more working on the project across the UK, in France and beyond.

Bristol-based Global Employee Mobility Ltd is proud to be playing a crucial part in the project, helping to ensure members of that workforce are in the right place at the right time.

The company specialises in relocation management and has been working with joint venture Bylor – a collaboration between Laing O’Rourke and Bouygues TP – to support key staff moving to work at both the HPC site and the HPC Delivery Command Centre (DCC) in Bristol for the last three years.

Nick King, Director of Global Employee Mobility Ltd, said: “We are a relocation management company supporting companies move their staff from one location to another.

“We deal with all aspects of the moving process and, in particular, we access longer term rental accommodation, buying and selling property on behalf of the moving employee and their family, visa applications, removals management etc.”

Global Employee Mobility Ltd’s support has meant it has been easier and quicker for Bylor to recruit the staff they need for all aspects of their work at HPC, making the process of moving staff to Bristol, Taunton and Bridgwater both efficient and cost-effective.

The company joined the Hinkley Supply Chain after attending a breakfast meeting with HPC contractor Altrad.

Nick said joining the Hinkley Supply Chain team had also given the company access to information that was not readily available externally and would, hopefully, prove invaluable to winning additional contracts at HPC.

“We are proud to be working on such a high-profile project and supporting key individuals to move to the local area.  As a small organisation it goes to show that opportunities do exist to provide our specialist services to a large organisation and to know that the support we provide is helping to build a nuclear power station!” Nick said.

He said Global Employee Mobility Ltd prided itself of offering a personal service to its clients, giving the support that was needed when it was needed.

The company operates in a global market with a network of consultants across the UK and overseas.

Services include everything from guaranteed home sales and house removals, rental management, help to find the right homes, settling-in support and even help to ensure new workers with families find the right schools for their children.

The directors of the company have over 50 years of experience in the mobility industry and offers a bespoke service, tailored to each client’s individual needs.

Nick added: “Our staff have experience of dealing with large group moves of staff in excess of 1,500 positions while we also deal with one-off moves for clients however, we treat every move as individual to ensure the best outcome for both the client and the individual.

“Relocation is only a small part of a company’s responsibilities to their staff but can have a significant and costly impact to their business if it is not handled correctly.

“We pride ourselves on the support that we give as an organisation and how this can be integrated into the client’s business.”
