“Typically, we operate within the petrochemical, chemical and oil and gas industries. Not only is this the first time we have worked on HPC but this is the first time we have ever delivered our services to the nuclear industry,” said Zulu Joint Integrity & Training Ltd Director, Christopher Mellows.

“We are very proud of this fact as it demonstrates our growth into all industry market sectors. We hope that we continue to develop a trusted and transparent relationship with all associated HPC clients throughout the duration of the project to ensure that leak prevention of bolted joints meets the required regulatory compliance and that the competencies of all those working on bolted joints are demonstrated by completing the industry recommended training and assessment courses that we provide,” Mr Mellows said.

He said the support of the Hinkley Supply Chain team had helped in stay up-to-date with all the latest information and opportunities at HPC and recommended other companies hoping to secure work on the project signed-up to the supply chain portal.

He said: “We have received regular communication since we first registered with the Hinkley Supply Chain and the team also paid us a visit at our premises to discuss our services and potential support to the Hinkley Point C project.

“Using the team provides an opportunity to create new collaborations with other supply chain companies and also to develop a close working relationship in a supply chain that encourages collaboration to improve efficiency and increase innovation. It’s also a great opportunity to showcase a support services business, however large or small.”
