Clarke Willmott Tour of Hinkley Point C

Clarke Willmott was delighted to organise in partnership with EDF Energy and HOST a tour of Hinkley Point C on 21st March 2019 for clients and those individuals with a strong interest in the construction of the new nuclear power station in Somerset.

The tour was arranged to show business owners and key connections the opportunities that are available. Clarke Willmott was delighted that Sam Evans from the Hinkley Supply Chain was able to join the tour. Sam was on hand to answer questions and provide an overview of the work the supply chain is doing to ensure businesses in the region are aware of and prepared to take advantage of work packages that are being created.

An overview of the project was provided by EDF tour guides to give all a broad understanding of the project, along with time frames and facts. It concluded with a lovely lunch at the Hinkley HOST campus, which provides accommodation services for all HPC workers.

Dale Edwards, Consultant Specialist, Nuclear Energy and Infrastructure at Clarke Willmott commented “It has been a little while since I was last on site and the progress that has and continues to be made is fantastic. Just looking at the 34 cranes which are currently on site, a figure which is due to rise to 52 in the coming months demonstrates the scale and complexity of the project. Our guests, many of which had not been on site before were amazed and all left having learned a little more along with a few more new connections made. We look forward to repeating the tour.”

Mark Flinton, Campus Operations Director from HOST said “It was our pleasure to show Clarke Willmott guests the facilities of the campus. The occupancy rates are high and following the opening of the Sedgemoor Campus in Bridgwater, we can accommodate some1500 people in high quality accommodation. We are grateful of the support that Clarke Willmott continues to provide in our journey from a start-up business to delivering a professional and welcoming service to the workers at Hinkley Point C.”
